The British Hills English Program has finally concluded.
The closing ceremony was held in Ambassadors’ Hall, and the teachers presented the students with their certificates.
I think the 4th graders really worked hard over the past three days.
I hope they will continue to work hard at their studies, especially in English, and improve their level in preparation for their training in the UK next year.
We will now have lunch and return to school.
The Christmas events at British Hills start tomorrow. The trees are now illuminated and decorated. More than half of the English program at British Hills is over.
The first group did a drama this afternoon. They created a new story using characters from Harry Potter, which is set in the UK, and acted it out. They said it was very difficult to come up with lines, but they looked like they had a lot of fun acting it out.
The second group also tried hockey after cricket. Hockey is also a sport that originated in the UK. It is said that it was originally started by cricket players in the winter when they couldn’t play games.
The third group was making scones, which they were most looking forward to. They mixed the ingredients, cut them into shapes, and baked them following the teacher’s English instructions. They made some very delicious scones.
The other two groups will make scones tomorrow morning. They will take their homemade scones home as souvenirs! Please wait for us when we return!
British Hills is located on the side of a mountain at an altitude of 1000m, so it is very cold in the winter.
Finally, it has started to snow in earnest.
But all the fourth graders are in high spirits. They eat a good breakfast and attend classes.
The first group is researching tourist attractions in the U.K. and making travel plans under the theme of “Travel in the U.K.”
British Hills is “The Britain that anybody can visit without a passport.”
The facilities in the building are named after tourist attractions and famous people in the U.K. Some students are researching their names.
The second group is experiencing cricket as a British sport.
Cricket is being promoted by Sano City, where our school is located.
The third group is learning about introductions under the theme of “British Hills Experience.”
All the 4th graders were having a lot of fun in their English classes.
After dinner, they participated in “Brain Teasers”.
They all seemed to enjoy thinking up answers to the questions the native teacher asked, and looked very happy when they got the answer right.
Some of the students who participated in the treasure hunt and Sherlock Holmes mystery solving in their free time also completed the challenge. They were delighted to receive a British Hills original clear file folder as a reward for completing the challenge.

The first lesson has begun.
This time, the students are divided into three groups.
The title of the first lesson is “Survival English.”
The students seem to be enjoying the lessons, choosing team names and playing word games to break the ice.
Hello everyone.
Starting today, the fourth graders are taking part in the English program at British Hills in Fukushima.
Everything here is done in English, even the website is written in English.
British Hills is located near Lake Hatori. We took a group photo as a souvenir.
We arrived there as planned, and the first thing we did was hold an opening ceremony.
After that, we had a buffet-style lunch, and took a group photo in front of the Shakespeare statue.
During our free time, we walked around the facility. This time, we are participating in the Explorer program, and everyone is engrossed in exploring.
The first class starts at 4 p.m.
